Our goal is to take athletes on an athlete-centered journey and to help each athlete develop to their full genetic potential. To do this we need to place athletes in training groups that align them with peers of their biological, training age, physical, mental, emotional, and cognitive-developmental. This allows us to better create periodized plans specific to each group’s developmental needs.

Athlete Assesment

All athletes begin our programs with a FREE Advanced Athletic Assessment. We use the data gathered during this assessment to ensure that they are training at the appropriate level and to develop their training program. Mighty Mad Apples (9+ yrs)

COMING THIS FALL!

Looking to get your athlete an inside edge on speed, strength, and conditioning? These years are crucial for establishing maximum athletic performance and building injury resilience. Our Mighty Mad Apples Program is geared towards athletes who are looking to improve fundamental movement patterns and have began to master skills taught during sport play. This program includes a dynamic warm up, speed and agility work, strength training and energy system development in a convenient 60-minute session.

PROGRAM INCLUDES

    • Our classes focus on instilling healthy fitness training habits in your child, so they have the best chance to succeed in athletics and life. The classes focus primarily on:
    • Bodyweight mastery, especially the athletic position
    • First step quickness and breakaway speed
    • Agility & change of direction skills
    • Jumping & landing mechanics
    • Balance & coordination

The strength training portion of this program is progression in nature and requires that each athlete so mastery of bodyweight and form before being allowed to advance. Our program follows the NSCA guidelines for youth resistance training.

Junior Mad Apples

LEARNING TO COMPETE

These pre-high school classes are 75 minutes long (same length as high school classes) with an even split of movement, speed, and agility development combined with our individualized strength, power, and energy system development programs. For ages 12 and up.

Focused on speed, game speed agility, and explosiveness with building a robust foundation of strength, body control, and energy system development. Constructing a highly functional foundation is key for long term athletic development.

Athletes who are ready for this next step will be invited to join by a member of our team (we will speak to or reach out to the parents of any athletes we feel are ready to join this group). Pricing is outlined below and is the same as our High School pricing because the class lengths are the same and the amount of time our coaches will spend programming for these athletes will be the same.

High School Athletic Performance

For high school athletes, our programs are designed to fit with most high school schedules. The Program is focused on speed, game speed agility, and explosiveness with building a robust foundation of strength, body control, and energy system development. Constructing a highly functional foundation is key for long term athletic development.

Weight Room

This is where the foundation of athleticism is built. The role of muscle in moving the body and generating force is of prime importance.  Our weightroom consists of quality strength and conditioning equipment that can be used by athletes of any level and any sport.

A competitive environment where we transfer gains from the weightroom to high quality game speed movement.

(Licensed Massage Therapist) : “Wellness In Motion Therapy”. Emma Walton: Emma specializes in Sports, Deep Tissue and Therapeutic massage techniques. She is also experienced with hot stones, aromatherapy, and advanced stretching techniques.

    Austin Shoemaker
    Co-Founder & Director of Sports Performance 

    As the Director of Sports Performance Austin oversees the execution of business operations, as well as all speed, power, and strength training sessions and programming for Mad Apple Athletes. He was introduced to the field of performance from the athlete’s perspective first and became fascinated by the impact superior coaching and quality training programs could have. He brings over 7 years of experience, and has worked with hundreds of athletes from a variety of sports and levels – including multiple collegiate scholarship recipients, state champions, and has had the privilege to work with many past and present elite athletes, and NFL athletes in Combine/Pro Day preparation.

    Austin played four years of collegiate football at Trine University, and obtained his degree in 2015 in Exercise Science & Kinesiology. In addition, he holds the nationally recognized certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), as well as the USA Weightlifting Sports Performance (USAW) certification. His proficiency and principle-based coaching style gives him a unique multi-faceted approach to achieve superior, applicable outcomes. He takes every opportunity to continue to learn, improve and hone his craft to better serve athletes.

    “The work is done with biomechanics but it’s accomplished through trust and relationships. I want to bring out the best of my athletes as so many of my coaches did for me. My goal is and always will be to make a positive impact on my athletes lives. If I can do that, I can think of no better way of using the gifts God gave me to make an impact while I’m here.
